In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, there will be some bosses to face in order to complete your adventure and you will be called to take on the role of different characters in order to succeed in this undertaking. If some of them are very simple to deal with, such as Sandman, which acts as a tutorial, there are others that require a strategy to be defeated. One of these is without a doubt the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Venom boss. In fact, in addition to being the final boss of the game, it also represents a great challenge for players, as it is very powerful and to be defeated you have to go through several different phases.

How to beat Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

For this reason, in this article, we have decided to explain in detail how to defeat Venom and be able to witness the ending of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. As we have already mentioned, this boss fight is made up of different phases, five to be precise, so be prepared to take part in a battle that won’t be so quick to complete, especially if you decide to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on maximum difficulty.

Phase 1

The first phase of this battle will begin in the gym where Pete and Harry began their friendship although, soon, you will be catapulted outside. The most useful strategy to use in this first phase is without a doubt that of dodging. Venom, in fact, will be able to chase away his tendrils and make whatever makes up the environment lift. So, your task will be to be very careful not to fall crushed by something or get hit.

One of the attacks in Venom’s arsenal is a dash very similar to what Symbiote Spider-Man can perform, so you shouldn’t have much trouble avoiding it with a dodge. However, while performing perfect dodges in a row will grant you a bonus to your skills, pay attention to what you see on the screen. If you see that Spider-Man’s senses will flash blue, it means that you will have to dodge, so you can continue with this technique, however, if you see that his senses will start to flash orange, it means that you will have to parry.

Once you have managed to remove 25% of Venom’s health bar with your attacks, he will begin to terraform the entire environment and therefore you will have to make use of your webs to be able to escape and not be hit. Be careful not to get hit by the Symbiote goop as they can inflict a lot of damage on you and try to use as much as possible the sonic disruptors that are found around the battle arena.

Phase 2

Once you have emptied Venom’s entire health bar, you will witness a cutscene and then resume the fight. In this second phase, as soon as the cutscene is over, Venom will summon allies who will have the task of making your life even more difficult. However, they are not very difficult to defeat and you can also make use of your webs (which are not effective against Venom) to be able to eliminate them quickly.

However, you will notice that Venom’s health bar is covered in some sort of white coating, which means that Venom will only summon his mobs when this white coating is there. For this reason, you should aim to reduce this white coating until it disappears so that, not only will Venom not be able to summon his allies, but he will also go into a state where he can be attacked but he won’t attack you. As a result, this is a great time to land combos.

Phase 3

When you have managed to inflict enough damage on Venom, the third phase of the battle will begin and you will take on the role of Miles. In this phase, Venom will grow wings, which will make the fight even more difficult, but not in this phase, but in the next one. In this first phase in which you will be Miles, in fact, you should not have any particular problems, after all, as Miles’ skills will be able to make him get closer to his opponent to land blows.

Furthermore, Venom’s attacks will be very easy to avoid, so you shouldn’t worry too much about what your opponent has in mind for you. Just be careful of the projectiles he will throw at you which, if you don’t dodge, will inflict a good amount of damage. However, you can grab them and knock them straight back at the sender to deal more damage to Venom.

Phase 4

In this fourth phase, in which you will once again play as Miles, Venom will return to the ground to fight again. At this point, since the arena will be full of Symbiote gloops, you will be able to find sonic disruptors scattered around the game arena which will certainly be very useful to you during this fourth phase of the battle.

These disruptors, along with your gadgets, will be key to interrupting Venom’s most dangerous attacks. Furthermore, when you see that the boss will need some cooldown moments after making a move, immediately head towards him to pull off combos and inflict a high amount of damage. However, be careful not to get hit by the Symbiote Smash attack, as it is a dangerous attack, so try to dodge it. Alternatively, to deal extra damage, you can also try to parry it.

Once his health bar reaches 50%, Venom will grow his wings again and things won’t be as simple as before. In this case, in fact, you will not be able to throw sonic disruptors at him to inflict damage, so you will have to change your strategy. Also, Venom will start firing a much larger amount of projectiles, so make good use of them by grabbing and throwing them at him. Finally, keep in mind that, at the end of each of his combos, you will be able to hit him safely during his cooldown periods.

Phase 5

Once you have managed to completely empty his life bar, for the umpteenth time, the final phase of the battle will begin. In this last phase, you will take on the role of both Miles and Peter at the same time, precisely to try to put an end to the clash once and for all and defeat Venom. However, contrary to what you might think, this phase is not particularly difficult to overcome.

To complete this fifth and final phase and, consequently, complete the entire battle against Venom, all you have to do is successfully complete the QTEs that you will see on your screen and that’s it. Consequently, this phase of the battle is truly straight-forward and does not need any type of particular strategy to be completed.
