LCO Split 1 2023 is finally here. Oceania’s best and brightest League reps will battle it out on the Rift once more, but plenty has changed; new faces, a new format and a new end goal — the PCS playoffs. Who will carry the OCE torch forward?

  • Bliss, Ground Zero debut for LCO Split 1 2023
  • Reigning champions Chiefs to begin title defence
  • Five week split kicks off January 23

The off-season is over, and competitive League of Legends is finally back.

While other regions began their 2023 conquests last week, OCE fans have been made to wait — but no longer.

The LCO is back — but it’s a strange new world that our eight squads enter into. Major changes announced in November means a new pathway for our Oceanic representatives to tread.

OCE will no longer be guaranteed a spot at MSI and Worlds, instead needing to pass the PCS gauntlet in order to represent the region on the big stage.

A new format, too: squads will have just five weeks to prove their worth in pursuit of League glory — and there’s plenty of pressure on our debutants in Bliss and Ground Zero to hit the ground running early.

Bliss will begin their LCO season with a bang: reigning champions Chiefs await the boys in pink in a season opener not to be missed, while Ground Zero kick off their LCO campaign against a rebuilt Pentanet.

A new-look Mammoth take on Dire Wolves, while the Taiwanese-based Peace challenge Kanga in their first series up.

We’re covering LCO Split 1: teams, schedule, results and more.

Split 1 of LCO 2023 features a brand new five week format. Each team will play a best-of-three against one another via round robin.

The playoff format is not set in stone just yet, but all eight squads are expected to be seeded into two groups, with the top two from each group progressing to a double-elimination final bracket.

LCO Split 1 2023 Rosters

Reigning LCO champions Chiefs will be out to defend their crown, but have undergone changes since their Mexico outing late last year.

Raes & Aladoric return as the team’s bot lane duo, but coach Babip steps back into the starting line-up as the team’s jungler, while BioPanther makes a return to the LCO after Order’s dissolution in 2022.

It’s a new Chiefs squad for ’23, but the league champs retain their favourites tag heading into Split 1.

Bliss and Ground Zero make their grand entrance to the LCO with a combination of youth and experience, while Mammoth have built around the 2022 Gravitas core, with Ch1Chi debuting in the LCO as the team’s top laner.
