How minimal do you want to get? Kubics launches on Xbox, taking those low levels to the absolute extreme. 

Available right now as the latest puzzle platformer to land on Xbox systems, Kubics is most certainly intriguing. What exactly is going on is up for debate, but if you’re in the market for a new test of the mind, we think this should suit. 

Priced at £4.19, this one comes from the solo dev, Rafael Valim Fernandes. Rafael Valim Fernandes has previously pushed out other games to the Xbox world; games like Gabriel’s Worlds The Adventure and The Fast Journey. Honestly, we can’t say we were massively taken in by them. 

A different kind of puzzler

Kubics is different to those other games though. Playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, it focuses on a couble of little cubes – black and white. It’s up to you to take charge of these, whipping them around a variety of stages like there is no tomorrow. The goal? Collect the cubes of the same colour as your character. 

Easy huh?. Well, no. You see, in Kubics on Xbox you’ll need to navigate your way around the traps at hand, utilising each of the blocks as platforms, moving them as you see fit. Perhaps you’ll want to use one of your blocks as a blocker, or a humble shelf. Whatever, making the most of both of them is key to any form of success. 

With the most minimal of visuals and sound, there should be little to stop you from becoming one with the vibe of Kubics, slowly and surely making your way to your objective.
