Cannabis culture is about expression, connecting with friends, and letting the good times roll. So it’s not surprising more and more musicians are getting involved in the cannabis game, especially in the rap and hip-hop industries. Koolato is one of the latest rapper weeds to hit the scene, thanks to a collaborative effort between The Vault Seed Bank, Gas Co Cannabis, and American rapper Yukmouth. Koolato strain genetics

The Vault Seed Bank and Gas Co Cannabis showed a certain finesse when developing the Koolato strain genetics, and it shows. As the story goes, they started with a cross between GSC and Face on Fire. The resulting phenotype was amalgamated back into GSC before being crossed with Gelato #33. And the attention to detail paid off. Whether it’s flavor, fragrance, terpenes, or effects, Koolato hits the mark every time. So let’s take a closer look at the Koolato strains parents.

Girl Scout Cookies, a legacy in the industry, is an indica dominant hybrid bred from Durban Poison and a South Florida OG Kush cross. GSC is often used to create new strains.

Gelato #33, as the name suggests, is known for its dessert-like taste and aroma. Its parents are Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies

Face on Fire is a cross between White Fire 43 and Face Off OG BX1. This potent indica-dominant hybrid can reach up to 30% THC.

No wonder the Koolato weed strain is a breeder’s dream. Never one to miss an opportunity, Cookies founder Berner’s crossed Koolato with Cookies & Cream to create Tres Leches, a tasty hybrid that certainly upholds the family name.

Is Koolato strain indica or sativa?

Koolato weed strain is one of those rarer marijuana hybrids with a perfectly balanced 50% indica / 50% sativa split, delivering a high that hits just right.

Growing Koolato strain

If you’re interested in growing Koolato, you’re in for a challenge. Not because it’s difficult to cultivate – quite the opposite, actually – but because it’s so rare (which is why the Koolato seed price is so hefty). But if you’re up for the task, here’s what you need to know.

Koolato strain info is limited, but there’s enough available to get you going. It thrives in a warm and humid environment, with decent mold and bug resistance. Resistant doesn’t mean immune, so be vigilant and keep an eye on your buds. Prune regularly to expose more buds to light and ventilation and ensure healthy growth.

Koolato nugs are a stunning display of dark purple and violet nestled beneath a layer of white crystalline trichomes. The overall effect is astonishing – like Mother Nature hand-crafted the buds from amethyst stones.

Koolato strain flowering time

Koolato is a photoperiod flowering type. Some growers say it needs 8-9 weeks to flower, but others say you can do it in just 6-7 weeks.

Outdoor harvest time is mid to late October, though this may differ depending on when you planted your seeds. Know the best time to plant for your area before getting started.

Koolato strain autoflowering time

The autoflowering version of Koolato, like most autoflowers, starts blooming very early. Because it doesn’t require light deprivation to start flowering, expect the first buds to appear after four to six weeks. Koolato autoflowers can be harvested after ten to fourteen weeks. That makes its (auto) flowering time between four and ten weeks long

Koolato strain yield

The average yield of any cannabis plant depends on several factors, including the skill of the cultivator, growing conditions, strain genetics, and size and health of the plant. It also differs between photoperiod and autoflower plants. However, you can use general estimates as a guideline for potential yield per plant

For photoperiod plants, this is 16-64 ounces (450-1814 grams) outdoors and 8-24 ounces (227-680 grams) indoors. Most Koolato strain info suggests it’s a low-yielding plant, but some growers claim they’ve produced decent yields. So you can grow Koolato strain seeds indoors and outdoors, but the outcome may be tricky to predict.

Koolato strain autoflower yield

The potential yield per plant for autoflowering plants is 1.7-7 ounces (50-200g) outdoors and 1.7-4.2 ounces (50-120 grams) indoors.

Koolato strain effects

Koolato is most notable for its cerebral high, which catapults you into euphoric bliss without sending you spinning. It gives you controlled energy with steady focus, and you can easily concentrate on your tasks. It’ll make you happier, calmer, and more talkative.

Koolato’s body stone is just as satisfying, with a pleasant tingling that’ll have you comfortable and relaxed without putting you out of action. But if you consume too much, the focused high could make it difficult to sleep, while the relaxation can leave you glued to the couch. If you’re trying Koolato for the first time, clear your schedule and start with small amounts until you’re more familiar with the strain.

As with any marijuana, your THC tolerance and personal tendencies are factors to consider before lighting up. The most common adverse reactions include headaches, dry eyes, dizziness, and munchies, but paranoia and anxiety aren’t entirely off the table. Koolato usually contains between 15% and 20% THC, but some sources claim variations with up to 35%. It’s unlikely you’ll get your hands on bud that potent, but you may find some closer to 23%.

Though the Koolato CBD content of +-1% doesn’t sound impressive, it’s more than enough to offer a therapeutic boost (especially when coupled with the terpenes, which contribute to the strain’s overall flavor and effects).

Koolato strain terpenes

Koolato is the gift that keeps giving, with its many positive effects being just a touch of what this weed has to offer. Bisabolol leads the terpene profile, followed by carene, phellandrene, and ocimene. These terpenes are what make Koolatos fragrance refreshing, intoxicating, and oh-so-tempting. Made up of a blend of herbs, earth, flowers, and sweet citrus, you can almost taste the goodness.

And Koolato doesn’t just entice with its fragrance – the marijuana delivers on the taste and then some. Its mix of flowers, fruit, menthol, herbs, and earth is refreshing and delicious, especially on the exhale when the citrus becomes more tangy than sweet. The flavor lingers on your tongue and embeds itself in your mind. It’s undoubtedly one of the most intense flavor experiences around. You’ll be dreaming of the flavors long after you’ve tasted them.

FAQs about Koolato strain

Can you buy the Koolato strain at a local dispensary?

Most California-based dispensaries do stock this strain. Be quick, though – Koolato weed is highly sought after and doesn’t sit on the shelves long. If you’re not in California, searching “Koolato strain near me” online should point you in the right direction.

What is the going rate for Koolato strain seeds?

Koolato strain seeds are not easily available and are always in high demand, so it’s pretty much the dealer’s choice. One website had its Koolato seed price set at $2400! Not all seed banks will be this extravagant with their pricing, but you should prepare to pay a little more than you’re used to.

Is Koolato strain sativa or indica?

Koolato strain is a hybrid, so it contains sativa and indica genes. Unlike many other hybrids, Koolato has the golden ratio – a balanced 50% indica and 50% sativa split.
