A royal climate change mission is taking on a Kiwi flavour, with former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern joining its team, and several nominees from Aotearoa in the running for one of its five £1 million (NZ $1.9 million) prizes.

Launched by Prince William in 2020, the Earthshot Prize searches for “extraordinary solutions” to the world’s greatest environmental challenges. The organisation offers a £1 million (NZ $1.9 million) prize for each of five categories: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean Our Air; Revive Our Oceans; Build a Waste-Free World; and Fix Our Climate.
