Jetstar has revealed new ‘Flying With Pride’ livery as it marks eight years as the official partner of Melbourne’s queer arts and culture festival, Midsumma.
The rainbow livery has been added to the nine-year-old A320-200 VH-VFY, which returned to Jetstar’s domestic network on Wednesday after its repainting in the airline’s Melbourne engineering hangar.
“There’s a seat for everyone at Jetstar, no matter how you identify, and this inclusive spirit is now on display more publicly than ever,” said Jetstar CEO Steph Tully.
“Melbourne is Jetstar’s home, and we’re incredibly proud to be the official airline partner of Midsumma for the eighth year in a row.”
The three-week Midsumma festival will run in Melbourne from 21 January to 11 February 2024, and Jetstar staff will march in the St Kilda Pride March as well as host a stall at the carnival.
Midsumma Festival CEO Karen Bryant thanked Jetstar for its ongoing support.
“Witnessing a Jetstar aircraft travelling around the country with pride livery will bring much joy and visibility to LGBTQIA+ community members and allies,” she said.
