The ISC2 SECURE Asia Pacific 2023 conference is set to take place at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in Singapore on 6 and 7 December 2023.

This event, following its successful launch last year, offers a unique opportunity for professionals from various sectors of cyber and information security, IT, and infrastructure security to come together for two days of intensive learning and networking.

The conference will focus on the latest issues in cybersecurity, providing a platform for face-to-face interaction among peers and industry vendors from across the region.

Attendees are encouraged to engage in meaningful collaboration and learning, gaining insights and actionable ideas from a range of expert perspectives to enhance the security of their organisations.

ISC2 members who attend can also earn up to 11 CPE credits. In addition to the educational sessions, the event will feature an exclusive networking reception on 6 December, as well as numerous opportunities for attendees to connect with their peers in the exhibit hall and during various breaks and sessions.

Navigating the future of cybersecurity

The ISC2 SECURE Asia Pacific 2023 conference will kick off with a keynote by Francesca Bosco from the CyberPeace Institute, focusing on evolving cybersecurity and preparing the future workforce for digital protection. This session will highlight the importance of diversity and skill development for a secure digital future.

Day one features two concurrent educational tracks. The first, led by Ilia Tivin of Locked Jar, delves into the future of access control in cloud environments, emphasising the superiority of Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) over traditional methods. The second track, headed by Francisco Rivero of DTCC, explores control validation and adversary emulation in cybersecurity.

Additional sessions include insights from Alvina Lee and Keat Jau Yaw of GovTech Singapore on using SaaS products for public sector efficiency and cloud security.

Another session, featuring Nyan Tun Zaw, Hongyu Li, and Hiroko Okada, will discuss building a cyber team, emphasising inclusivity and practical strategies.

The day concludes with a CISO panel moderated by Meng Chow Kang, discussing responses to emerging technologies, budget challenges, workforce optimisation, and the role of automation. Panelists include experts from KPMG Singapore, OCBC Bank, Singtel, and SMRT Corporation.

Day two starts with Ivo Peixinho of INTERPOL discussing strategies against ransomware and the importance of international collaboration in cyber defense. The day’s first track, moderated by Casey How, features a panel of young professionals discussing their motivations for choosing cybersecurity careers.

The conference wraps up with a panel on global resilience, moderated by George Hlaing. This session brings together experts from government, industry, and academia to discuss challenges and solutions for critical national infrastructure. Panelists include Chuan Wei Hoo, Samara Moore, Vinayak Srimal, and Shao Fei Huang.

This comprehensive agenda aims to provide attendees with actionable insights and networking opportunities to enhance their cybersecurity capabilities and knowledge.
