China NMPA issued the notice “Information Collection from Enterprises and Institutions Related to the Preparation of the Guideline for Intracranial Coils and Guideline for Stent Retrievers” on May 17, 2023. NMPA invites domestic and foreign enterprises, research, and clinical institutions, etc. to actively participate, to provide feedback in the submission materials and technical review requirements.

The deadline Is May 31, 2023. Companies and institutions can simply fill the form with information such as company name, contact number, fax, email, advantages to this field and supports to be given (such as guideline contents and reference section), and email the CMDE (Center for Medical Device Evaluation)

Cardiovascular Health in China

According to Chinese Circulation Journal published in 2022, cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounted for 46.74% and 44.26% of all deaths in rural and urban areas, respectively. Two out of every five deaths were due to CVD. It is estimated that about 330 million patients suffer from CVD in China. The number of patients suffering from stroke, coronary heart disease, pulmonary heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, lower extremity artery disease and hypertension are 13 million, 11 million, 5 million, 8.9 million, 4.9 million, 2.5 million, 2 million, 45.3 million and 245 million, respectively.

The report also stressed that the number of people suffering from hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes in China has reached hundreds of millions. Also, since blood pressure, blood lipids, and blood sugar levels ofren rise insidiously, vascular diseases and serious events such as myocardial infarction and stroke often already occur at the time of detection in this population.
