New Seasons for Warzone 2 DMZ always bring a slew of fresh content from Maps to DMZ missions. My favorite is always the shiny new weapons, as traditionally, they are pretty strong on launch. New weapons like this have defined the meta in the past. Even if that doesn’t happen, they are always worth checking out. This time around, we have a new SMG with an integrated suppressor! If you want to get your stealth game on, let me show you how to unlock the Lachmann Shroud in Warzone 2 DMZ.

To unlock the new SMG, players must complete every challenge in the E0 Sector of the Battlepass Map. Once those challenges are finished, 30 Hip-Fire SMG kills unlock the Lachmann Shroud for use in all game modes.

The challenges are as follows:

  • Get 15 Operator Kills with Melee weapons
  • Get 3 Operator Kills without dying 20 times
  • 15 Operator Headshot Kills with pistols
  • Get 20 Operator Longshot Kills

The wording for these challenges is important as ‘Operator Kills’ means you can’t do this against AI in DMZ. These challenges are doable in Plunder, Battle Royale, and Warzone but will be much easier in MW2. Shipment is traditionally the best place to hammer through challenges quickly, and that’s no exception here. For the Melee and Pistol kills in Warzone, you can wait until the plane kicks you out automatically. There are usually a few AFK players you can pick off. Just beware: this is a known strategy, and you may run into other players doing the same.

Are there other ways to get the Lachmann Shroud in Warzone 2 DMZ?

At the time of writing, the only way to get the Lachmann Shroud is through the challenges detailed above. Usually, new weapons can be purchased as part of a bundle in the store. As the store is constantly updated, the Lachmann Shroud will likely appear there soon. Typically, bundle weapons come with a few attachments built in, but you’ll still need to unlock the rest naturally.

How good is the Lachmann Shroud?

As the Lachmann Shroud is brand new, it’s hard to say how well it will perform against other heavy hitters in the class. The ISO 45 has been a frontrunner in the SMG class for a while now, and it’ll take more than a built-in suppressor to dethrone it. No matter how good your weapons are, you’re at a disadvantage if you can’t hear your opponents coming. If you’re after the best sound settings, check out our guide.
