Before you can acquire Gear 2, you need the following things.

• Rubber Fruit
  • Available through Merchant, rare chest drop, and random spawns around the map. Make sure you’ve consumed it to get the Rubber moveset. You may need to wipe your current fruit.

How To Get Gear 2

Once you have the items, follow the steps below.

• Head to Luffy’s Island. You can find it in The First Sea.
• Fight the Luffy boss located on the raised hill on the back of the island, at the opposite end to the docks.
• You need to beat him using the Rubber Fruit moves.
• There’s a small chance of the win giving you access to Gear 2. You might need to grind the boss a number of times to unlock it, so it helps being pretty strongly over-leveled or over-geared for the situation so you can fight the boss every respawn.
