Something spooky this way comes – the world of Yobob Games’ Harvest Island will make its way to Steam on October 10.
Combining a story-rich tale, horror elements, and a farming sim into one complete package, Harvest Island will task players with farming crops, collecting tidepool critters, and catching fish for the gods – quite the task!
Each day, the gods request items that can be found around the island, with bless serving as a reward. With this bless in hand, players will then be able to upgrade their farm or build and craft items. In the case of the latter, one can craft various tools like a ladder, rope, and a fishing pole, which can then be used to further explore the island.
Along the way, players will be able to discover hidden locales like a cave behind a waterfall, and can alternatively befriend wild animals within the forest (food is a good motivator too). There are also more modern accouterments, like randomly placed vending machines. The title also features a perpetual day/night cycle, along with tides that fluctuate at things progress.
