A McLaren Vale home has everything you need to live an active lifestyle and could make a family of sports nuts very happy.

The sprawling 4457sq m property at 180 Seaview Rd, which has a range of features you’d expect to see at a resort more than a home, has hit the market.

David Murdock bought the home in 2015, attracted by the lifestyle it offered him and has since transformed it into a sports lover’s dream.

“I saw its potential and loved the views, the peace and quiet and the fact that it had no neighbours,” he says.

“I always wanted to have that sort of place and always wanted to have room for the cricket, the golf, the basketball, the badminton, darts, eight-ball, and a swimming pool.

“I’ve done a fair bit of work to the house, I’ve cleared the yard up and built two new separate buildings, and built a balcony so you can enjoy 360-degrees as far as the eye can see – the sunsets and lightning storms, where you can see all the way down the coast, are really breathtaking.”

The home has four bedrooms, indoor and outdoor living spaces, a theatre, a games room, a putting green, a golf driving range, a cricket pitch and extensive lawns.

Moving interstate to be closer to family, David says it’s time for someone else to enjoy it, and fall in love with all the McLaren Vale community offers.

“I’ve had plenty of people over to enjoy it with me and that’s the whole idea of it,” he says. “I’d love to sell it to a family that can just enjoy it.

“It could be a great winery or a cellar door, but a family would have a ball here.”

The property will go to auction at 10am on July 23.
