The government is changing its Clean Car programme by adjusting the rebates for zero emissions imports, making the threshold stricter for eligible vehicles, and increasing fees for higher emitting vehicles.
In an announcement yesterday, Transport minister Michael Wood said the scheme had been more successful than expected and will reduce 50% more emissions than originally estimated by 2035, and 230% more by 2025.
