Whatever you think of Zen Studios’ decision to run Pinball FX as a subscription model, you can be sure of one thing, they know exactly what it takes to create a cracking pinball game. Today they take the usual ideas and push things into the realms of horror, with the release of Pinball M for free. Obviously there are some paid options available too. 

Present and correct on the digital stores of Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam, Epic) is Pinball M. See this as Zen flexing their muscles in the horror scene, mixing it with the usual pinball brilliance they are renowned for, and you’ll be somewhere in the right ballpark. 

A free download of horror

Pinball M itself is a free download. For instance, the Xbox Store will provide access to the download you need for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. That gives access to everything you need going forward, working as the definitive space for the pinball horror that awaits. 

From there you’ll find access to the Wrath of the Elder Gods: Director’s Cut table, totally unrestricted and free. That’ll let you get involved, before being tempted by further paid options. 

You see, at launch we are looking at some four paid tables – Chucky, The Thing, Dead by Daylight and Duke Nukem themed. Each are available as £4.59 individual purchases or are found bundled together in one cracking Pinball M – Death Save Bundle for £16.74. It’s that which we think we’re going all-in with.

Those paid tables run as follows…

For Zen, it’s The Thing table that Zen are most excited by – “The THING Pinball is an authentic homage to the 1982 film, and features original clips from the film itself,” said Mel Kirk, COO of Zen Studios. “It gives long-time horror fans a go-to table in Pinball M, and completes our extraordinary line-up for launch.”

Pinball M comes in a couple of forms on the Xbox Store. There’s the free version if that is your bag. But you’ve also got that of the Death Save Bundle.
