Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Best Team

We’ve weighed up the options and come up with our picks for the ideal team.

Notice: We’re only including the OG squad right now, as they’re far removed from the First SOLDIER crew and, well, there’s only three of them.

We’ve tried not to lean too hard into weapon specifics and focus on the characters broadly, so you can get started out of the box.

Cloud Strife

The FF7 poster boy doesn’t disappoint and is a great single-target DPS whose swords can hit like a truck. He’s also a thunder caster from the outset which is pretty handy against most enemies wearing metal. He has a lot of good weapon choices, too.

Barret Wallace

Barret is another character who excels as a damage dealer, but he has another skill that makes him helpful. He has good AoE options to balance out Cloud’s leanings toward single targets, and can do a mean debuff to enemies’ defense, lining them up for Cloud to knock them down.

Aerith Gainsborough

Her species might be extinct, but she can stop your party going the same way. Aerith shows some serious healing chops and tops the charts for support characters. Her limit break is a good AoE heal, and she can pack a magical punch when she’s not scraping the rest of the party off the floor and putting them back together.
