When we reviewed the re-release of 2005’s We Love Katamari Damacy (titled We Love Katamari REROLL) at the tail-end of 2020, we praised its downright wackiness, and refreshing experience. However, we were left wanting more from its short run-time. Enter, We Love Katamari REROLL + Royale Reverie on Xbox, PlayStation and PC – the definite Katamari experience.

A Prince Sent from Space

If you aren’t too clued up on the Katamari lore, let us fill you in. Somehow, the King of the Cosmos did an oopsie and destroyed all of the stars in the universe. From there, he sent his son, the Prince, down to Earth to create a huge katamari ball full of whatever he could find, beaming it back up to space, restoring the starry sky.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royale Reverie on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC provides the best way to experience the katamari chaos. At least, that is the plan. We’ll find out in full review.

Additional Challenges

As well as including the original We Love Katamari REROLL edition of the game, with updated graphics and UI over the initial 2005 release, this title includes the Royal Reverie package.

This new mode sees you play as the King of the Cosmos in his youth, enduring a harsh education in katamari production. Royal Reverie will task you with wrapping up the largest katamari ball across five new challenges.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie on Xbox, PlayStation and PC more than caters for the solo player. However if you want to get involved with a friend, the local two player co-op mode will suffice. You can team up to produce the largest katamari, or duel in a battle that will test the most hardened of players.

There’s also a version of We Love Katamari REROLL + Royale Reverie in Special Edition flavours. This one will cost you £32.99 and includes the Main Game, the Little Prince Costume, the Katamari Damacy Series Music Pack and the Little King Costume.

Game Description

The King of the Cosmos once accidentally destroyed all the stars in the universe. He sent his son, the Prince, to Earth and ordered him to create a large katamari.

The Prince rolled the katamari and made the katamari bigger and bigger, rolling up all the things on the earth. The katamari that he created floated in space, sparkling, and brought back the lost starry sky.

As the starry sky was restored, the King’s fans gradually grew in number all over the world. The King wanted to respond to the wishes of his fans for his success, and the Prince kept rolling the katamari to make everyone’s dreams come true.
