Hour 1: Eben Matthews – Co-founder of Macroverse, a digitally native comic platform that you can view on your mobile devices.  Eben really broke into the industry as the writer/producer of the Boondock Saints comics.  Over the course of his career he, along with his partners, has created, written, directed, and produced content for major video game companies, comic book companies, TV studios, etc (most recently directed an episode of the Creepshow TV series).  In October 2019, he co-founded Macroverse (filling a gap of digitally native comic book content).

Eban came across NFTs through the Beeple $69 million sale and is now pivoting MacroVerse into a web 3 company.  They have already provided opportunities for their collectors to create, write and pitch stories based on the NFTs minted, (including a storyline crafted by our very own Matt Mazzaferro!), and are building Macroverse into a full multi-format media company.

Hour 2: Gareb Shamus – Founder and former CEO of Wizard Entertainment. Convinced his parents as a child to open a comic book and collectible store.  Saw a gap in a centralized hub for all news and information around comic books.  Started a newsletter: Wizard: The Guide to Comics which became immensely successful.  Incorporated into Wizard Entertainment, bought a floundering Comic Con in Chicago, invented the Cosplay contest and built Comic Cons into a global phenomenon.

In addition, Gareb is a co-founder of PGM Media, which owned Nerdist Industries, which sold to Legendary Pictures (Batman, Hangover, Superman, and Clash of the Titans movies) in July 2012.

He is an icon in the comic book, toys, and pop-culture industries.

He has now created HeroMaker Studios, a web 3 company to create mobile-first comic books and connect collectors, fans, and creators on a decentralized platform to shape the direction of characters and stories.
