A trashed and abandoned home in Brisbane’s north, fit with its own raunchy magazine collection has sold under the hammer to an investor.
The property at 40 Sheehan Street, Kallangur sold under the hammer for $518,500 with an opening bid of $400,000.
The home comes with all the contents left behind in including a raunchy playboy magazine.

Auctioneer Justin Nickerson from Apollo Auctions said the auction was a trustee sale and hadn’t been occupied for a number of years.

“The value is in the land and potentially that was the attractive part,” Mr Nickerson said.
“We often talk about presentation being of one of the reasons to an achieving a premium price.

“When a property is in this state does it hinder it, does it help it? The negative or the drawback is that it was being sold as is where is. The clearing out is the responsibility of the buyer.”

Mr Nickerson joked that the buyer has to decide whether they keep the old playboy mags on the ground.

“The new owners from my understanding will be investing. The bones of the house were pretty good,” he said. “When a property is in this condition it draws attention to the property. It can work as a positive as people get alerted to it. I think it brings in a whole range of buyers and see it as an entry point into a suburb. There is a whole different variety of people that creates competition to getting the best price.”
