[San Francisco, CA, October 13, 2023] — MakersPlace, the premier digital art marketplace, is excited to announce that David Ariew’s latest infinity room and virtual reality project, Quantum Stargate, has been selected for a featured presentation at the Digital Art Fair Asia (DAFA) 2023. This magnificent piece will grace the acclaimed Immersion Room, a space previously adorned by esteemed artists such as Refik Anadol and Jacky Tsai.

In Ariew’s words, “This is a sanctuary where the boundaries of reality blur, inviting souls to wander through infinite planes of divine light.”

For the sale of Quantum Stargate, MakersPlace is joining forces with Phillips Auction House as auction partners.

“Partnering with Phillips Auction House for the sale of Quantum Stargate marks a significant milestone for MakersPlace,” said MakersPlace CEO Craig Palmer. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to bringing exceptional digital art to the global stage and highlights the importance and value of David’s work.”

Five new digital Quantum Transcendence series works, as well as a VR experience by Ariew will be presented cohesively for the first time in the Immersive Zone and adjacent MakersPlace booth of the Digital Art Fair – Asia Edition. Artworks will be available for preview on Friday, October 13th here

“Six months ago, when David Ariew shared his latest meditative infinity room/virtual reality project with me, I found myself spellbound by the radiance and intricacy of his visuals,” said Jessica Marinaro, curator and Senior Director at MakersPlace. “It was evident that I was witnessing a masterpiece in the making.”

For this year’s DAFA, MakersPlace’s booth will be strategically located next to the Immersion Room, bridging the art of two of the world’s leading digital creators. While David Ariew’s Quantum Stargate navigates the viewers through infinite realms, Hideki Tsukamoto’s generative  IMMORTAL series works provide a contrast by capturing the audience’s attention with their singular motifs and breathtaking intricacy.

David’s ethereal landscapes, with their expansive and immersive quality, form a stark contrast to Hideki’s sharply focused motifs. Together, these artworks depict a delicate equilibrium between the vastness of the cosmos and an introspective understanding of life’s impermanence.

“The work of generative artist Hideki Tsukamoto has captivated me for years, with his Singularity series being perhaps the most widely recognized (and fervently sought after in the secondary art market after selling out almost immediately),” said Marinaro. “The idea of pairing his creations in dialogue with David’s strongly resonated with me.”

These contemplative works, crafted by two brilliant artists and presented in unison at one of the world’s foremost digital art exhibitions, embody a poignant reflection of the duality within all of us, the worlds we construct for ourselves and inhabit, and the universe that surrounds us.
