Hanwha Life Esports mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon reached two LCK milestones in their most recent win against DRX.

In the clean 2-0 win over DRX, Chovy reached his 1000th kill and 1500th assist in the LCK. In his seventh LCK split, Chovy has now entered the top 15 in the league’s all-time kill record and is looking like a player who will climb higher in the upcoming years. At just 20 years old, Chovy has achieved more than most mid laners will in an entire career as he remain one of the best players out there.

The two milestones were reached despite a very slow start to the 2021 LCK Summer Split for Chovy and the rest of Hanwha Life. After the first seven games, Hanwha Life is sitting at a disappointing 2-5 record. This puts Hanwha Life at the bottom of the leaderboard in ninth place and puts the star-studded roster under heavy pressure early in the split when it comes to the playoffs race.

To get to the playoffs and secure a spot at the 2021 World Championship, Hanwha Life will have to ramp up as a team and get every player back in form. Last split, Hanwha Life ended in third place after being knocked out by the defending champion DWG KIA. This gave fans high expectations for this split, as Hanwha Life kept its roster during the mid-season break. So far, the team has not lived up to any of those expectations and seems shaky in many aspects.

Luckily for Hanwha Life, Chovy still looks like the shining light for the team. While he hasn’t had the best split of his career so far, he is still keeping up with the best in the league. So far he has shown a wide champion pool, with solid performances on Yone and Sylas especially.

Looking at the current mid-lane competition in the LCK, there are a lot of promising players that are starting to step up. Despite the competition, Chovy is still doing very well in the early laning phase, where his raw mechanical skill really shines.

Chovy is currently leading in XP differential after 10 minutes and CS per minute among all mid laners in the league. He is also fielding the second-best gold differential at 10 among mid laners, only set behind by DWG KIA’s Heo “ShowMaker” Su. These stats show that Chovy is still the talent that everyone expects him to be, but that Hanwha Life as a team has a lot to work on.

Chovy will be able to build up his kill and assist count even further when he faces off against NS Redforce on Sunday, July 4.

What is the Hanwha Life Esports LCK roster?

After a great spring split this year, Hanwha Life chose not to make any roster changes for summer. So far, it’s not going well for the team so there might be changes after the season ends if the results don’t start to show.

The Hanwha Life Esports team is:

  • Top – Park “Morgan” Gi-tae / Lee “DuDu” Dong-ju
  • Jungle – Park “Arthur” Mi-reu / Kim “yoHan” Yo-han
  • Mid – Jeong “Chovy” Jo-hoon
  • Bot – Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu
  • Support – Oh “Vsta” Hyo-seong
