Blizzard Entertainment will reveal new details about Overwatch 2, focusing on the sequel’s player-versus-player mode, in an upcoming livestream. Game director Aaron Keller, who replaces outgoing game director Jeff Kaplan, will offer a first look at PvP changes coming to Overwatch 2 during the two-hour presentation.

“From new maps to major gameplay updates, we’re reinvigorating the core Overwatch experience,” Blizzard said in a news release.

The stream will air Thursday, May 20, at 3 p.m. EDT/12 p.m. PDT on Twitch and YouTube, and will feature appearances from Overwatch lead hero designer Geoff Goodman and associate art director Dion Rogers. Joining the Overwatch dev team are Overwatch League commentators Matt “Mr. X” Morello and Mitch “Uber” Leslie, as well as Overwatch content creators Stylosa and Cuppcaake. Blizzard will also host a development-focused AMA on Reddit “celebrating 5 great years of Overwatch” on May 24.

Previous updates on Overwatch 2 have focused on the game’s PvE story missions, a new PvP mode called Push, character redesigns, and the sequel’s first confirmed new character, Sojourn.

Overwatch 2 does not have a release date, but the game is not scheduled to arrive before 2022.
