Got a love for Axiom Verge? Today is a good day as Axiom Verge 2 on Xbox is now available.

We first saw Axiom Verge rock up onto Xbox consoles back in 2016, as Tom Happ – the solo dev behind the madness – released it on Xbox One. Some seven years later, the sequel s ready. Axiom Verge 2 on Xbox is here!

A much loved, slightly weird, action adventure, the original Axiom Verge picked up some huge acclaim. In fact, sitting here now, we’re seeing it running an 85 on Metacritic. For a solo developed game, that’s some going.

So hopes are high with Axiom Verge 2 on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. This one expands on what came before it, building in terms of new characters, skills, abilities and gameplay ideas.

Axiom Verge 2 on Xbox is priced at £16.74 and, frankly, it seems like a bargain for that.

A new Axiom Verge story comes to the fore

Whether you are coming off the back of the original game, or dropping into Axiom Verge 2 as a newbie, there’s reason for play. It focuses on how a billionaire – Indra – behind one of the largest companies in the world heads to the Antarctica, in search of her daughter. That search soon turns, whisking them off to a strange alternate reality populated by parasitic machines. Will they help? Or will they hinder?

It’s up to you to help Indra try to get some understanding as to the predicament she finds herself in. Where is she and what on earth is going on?

Axiom Verge 2 provides a host of different gameplay elements. Ultimately a wicked action adventure, it’ll have you trying to make sense of the strange lands you are on. A remote drone will come to the fore, monsters will need battling, machines will require a hack. In fact, you’ll have to utilise everything around you, just in order to survive.
