During a lengthy stream featuring prominent members of the Armored Core competitive scene, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco showed off some of the game’s Multiplayer modes.

We’re gonna answer all questions regarding Armored Core 6’s Multiplayer component.

Armored Core 6 Multiplayer Coop Explained

The answer is kind of. While previous entries of the Armored Core franchise have featured Coop mission and being able to play with strangers and friends was something of a trademark of the Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon doesn’t let you tackle missions with friends.

Instead, you’ll be able to go up against other teams of Armored Cores in 3v3 and 1v1 battles.

Armored Core 6 PvP Explained

PvP has always been a staple of the Armored Core franchise, many who aren’t familiar with the series probably don’t know about the fiercely competitive scene of those games. Which has endured a 10-year dry spell since the last release Armored Core Verdict Day.

The Appeal of Armored Core PvP

Armored Core is a franchise with a notoriously competitive PvP scene. While the series has been hibernating for a while, dedicated members of the community have kept the competitive spirit alive. Armored Core’s PvP is often likened to Fighting Games rather than other Third Person Shooters.

PvP is fast and offers tons of customization options and expressions. Just switching out a few parts of your Armored Core will change the way you approach combat drastically.

And it’s left to be seen how the scene around Armored Core 6’s PvP develops. With Bandai Namco promoting the Tekken World Tour, Armored Core might finally be large enough to become a full-blown Esport.

Armored Core 6 Online Modes

As far as we know, Armored Core 6 will feature strict team death matches and 1 on 1 duel in its PvP mode. In a deathmatch, two teams of 3 will go up against each other trying to deplete the other team’s tickets under the gun of the timer. Whoever loses all their tickets first or has the least tickets once the timer runs out loses.

In the 1v1 duels the game will play similarly to the Armored Core duels you’ll have in single-player. By default, the winner is decided in best of 3 matches.

Build Sharing

One of the new features in Armored Core 6 is the ability to share the build of your Armored Core online and or inspect those of others. Gone are the days of taking bad screenshots with your phone or having to break into someone’s apartment to find which exact legs they’re using.

Will there be Ranked PvP?

As of writing, we don’t know if there’ll be any sort of leaderboard or competitive element in Armored Core 6. We know that you can create custom rooms with up to 9 players, 6 of which can compete against each other in a team deathmatch while the rest spectates.

We do believe that there’ll at least be matchmaking of some kind which you can queue into either solo or with a team. How communication with random players will work in a team deathmatch is left to be seen.

Spectating Matches

It looks like you’ll also be able to rewatch old matches similar to fighting games such as Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive, and Tekken 7. If the game only saves your own matches or if you can observe everyone’s matches is still left to be seen though.
