It’s time to take our first steps into the wasteland with Prime Video’s new Fallout series. After months of teasing and slow-reveals, Prime Video finally released the first teaser for the series, which shows off the wastes of Los Angeles, the Brotherhood of Steel, and more. The series is set for release on April 12, 2024.

The trailer starts out, much like the games with a vault dweller exiting the only home she’s ever known and making her way into the wasteland. The trailer also gives us glimpses of bits of Fallout iconography, like the Brotherhood of Steel, and Ghouls, as well as a brief history lesson that shows us a time before the nukes hit. But the trailer’s real strength is how well it matches the tone fans of the games will recognize instantly. It’s full of pitch-black humor, bleak intrigue, and a little bit of adventurous optimism for good measure.

Fallout is being developed and written by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the duo behind Westworld, and showrun by Graham Wagner (Portlandia) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel). The series will star Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets). Walton Goggins (Justified), and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks).
