Akasa Air has received Indian regulatory approval to start international operations, as reported by The Economic Times.

The carrier is planning to launch flights by December to the Middle East.

In other news, Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline has partnered with Borécha to become the first Indian airline to offer Kombucha, a probiotic beverage served on Café Akasa, the airline’s onboard meal service. The item is available to buy on all flights and can also be pre-booked on Akasa Air’s website and mobile app.

In June 2023, the airline announced an order for four additional Boeing 737-8 jets at the Paris Air Show, a follow-up to the already placed order of 72 aircraft taking it to a total of 76 aircraft which include 23 737-8s and 53 high-capacity 737-8-200 aircraft.

The airline is also on course to announce another significant three-digit aircraft order by the end of 2023.

Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has carried over 4.3 million revenue passengers and connects 16 cities across India, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
