AirConnect shareholder files for insovency, financial crisis?

AirConnect (Bucharest) is reportedly in the midst of a financial crisis with its investors.

AirConnect is a new airline incorporated in Romania by 7 private investors driven by the desire to serve the regional market in the country. 

The company started operations in August 2022 with two ATR 72-600s, offering domestic flights in Romania, connecting regional airports with nearby hubs and holiday (charter) flights directly from regional airports.

According to the Romanian portal Boardingpass.ro, a shareholder of the airline has declared the airline to be insolvent according to Daily News Hungary.

The other shareholders have not yet commented on the financial situation of the comnpany suggesting a financial dispute within the company.

The airline continues to operate domestic flights in Romania and flights to Italy.
