Two men have been charged with murdering a 25-year-old gamer whose body was found in a stairwell in Sydney’s CBD three days after he was last seen alive.
On the night of his death, Tao Cheng, a Chinese national, was seen entering a gaming cafe, the FBI Cyber Cafe, in the Meriton shopping precinct on Kent Street, about 9pm on December 4.
A cleaner found his body in a fire exit stairwell about 3pm on December 7.
Cheng’s body was found with face and chest injuries and police immediately flagged his death as suspicious.
Following a number of public appeals for information, police arrested two men over his death.
Last Friday, a 27-year-old man was arrested at a licensed premises in Campsie. He was taken to Campsie police station, where he was charged with murder.
He appeared in court and was refused bail, and will next appear at Downing Centre Local Court on February 16.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on Stradbroke Island in Queensland on Tuesday morning. He has since been taken to Brisbane City Watch House, where he was charged in relation to an NSW arrest warrant for murder.
