Ubisoft has unveiled its highly anticipated first blockchain-based game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. The French video game publisher made its first foray into web3 gaming in 2021. Its first attempt at NFT gaming Ghost Recon leveraged NFT assets from the Tezos blockchain, which powered its Quartz platform.

Ubisoft describes Champions Tactics as a player-versus-player tactical game where players use mythical champions to battle against each other.

The game’s teaser trailer dropped on Wednesday, without showcasing much about the gameplay. However, players ballet each other while exploring the mythical legends of a utopian world called Grimoria.

Although the blockchain gaming industry has slowed significantly due to the effects of the bear crypto market, it boasts the highest level of on-chain activity with about 38% overall, according to a report by decentralised apps analytics and research firm DappRadar.
