XDefiant Beta End Date: Will There be an Extension?

The XDefiant closed beta end date is currently scheduled for Sunday, Apr. 23 at 2 p.m. ET, but fans might be getting an extension.

XDefiant is a new class-based FPS from Ubisoft featuring popular universes including Far Cry, Watch Dogs and Tom Clancy titles. A closed beta kicked off on Apr. 13 at 1 p.m. ET. While players have enjoyed trying out a fresh new title, it hasn't been without its fair share of bugs and glitches. Ubisoft has been hard at work to try and remedy issues and there's a Trello board players can follow to keep up to date with upcoming fixes.

Even though the beta is scheduled to end Apr. 23, there's some hope out there that the beta will be extended to a later date.

Addressing XDefiant beta testers, Executive Producer Mark Rubin was sharing thoughts on improving server stability and updates. "Oh, and if all goes well and the servers finally gain some stability then I think we should look at extending the Beta but I have to see what that would mean for team."

It's apparent the development team is aware of the major issues affecting players and they're looking at how they can improve things for players. A beta extension would certainly be welcomed giving how well received the game has been so far despite the issues. Plus, the XDefiant Showcase that aired on release day gave fans even more hope that there was some healthy competition coming to the genre.

Mainly, Rubin announced that there would not be skill-based matchmaking in casual playlists. A feature that's been massively criticized by particularly the Call of Duty fan base.

Stay tuned for more information regarding an XDefiant beta extension.
