Despite other rumors, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier doesn’t believe the RPG is out this year.

Bethesda’s Starfield has been a subject of much discussion lately especially with the company’s acquisition by Microsoft. Xbox boss Phil Spencer more or less indicated that it could be exclusive to Xbox and PC since those are Xbox Game Pass platforms. Recent rumors have also pegged the RPG as releasing in late 2021 with Microsoft reportedly trying its hardest to hit the Holiday release window.

According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, however, it isn’t going to happen. In a recent Reddit AMA, when asked if Starfield was likely for a 2021 release, he responded, “Nope.” However, with regards to any “interesting or surprising appearances” at next month’s E3, he also answered, “Nope.” If Schreier knows this based on insider information, then it’s likely things could change at some point so take this all with a grain of salt.

We won’t properly know until Microsoft or Bethesda announces something in the coming months. Microsoft is already confirmed to be attending E3 2021 with titles like Forza Horizon 5 likely to be announced. Bethesda may also share more information on MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones game. Stay tuned for hopefully more details when E3 2021 runs from June 12th to 15th.
