Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are being united with Pokémon GO, and to celebrate, players in Pokémon GO will be able to access the entirely new feature of Gold PokéStops to help them get the elusive Gholdengo.

This bridging of the two games will work by having players send postcards to their Pokémon Scarlet and Violet copies, which will then give their Pokémon GO accounts access to the Coin Bag item, which is used to collect Gimmighoul Coins.

Postcards can only be sent once a day, reseting at midnight of that day. But, once sent, Gimmighoul will be attracted to Pokémon GO players who have a Coin Bag, and players will find more, and thus, find more Gimmighoul Coins that can be used to evolve Gholdengo.

Gold PokéStops are a new feature coming to Pokémon GO for players to get a chance for better rewards related to this celebration of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet connection.

Gold PokéStops can be accessed most efficiently when a trainer uses the new Golden Lure Module, but for the next 24 hours, they may be spontaneously turning gold as a byproduct of this exciting announcement today. Niantic also said that for future events, Gold PokéStops may become more frequent then as well.

The defining feature of these Gold PokéStops is that they can be spun for extra Gimmighoul coins to help players get that requirement to evolve their Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo. Additionally, there is a chance to find Roaming Form Gimmighoul at these Gold PokéStops as well.

For more information, check Niantic's official announcement on the topic here, from their website.
