B-Corp certified fintech Evergreen has closed a €1.3 million seed round as it plans to expand product development. Based in Leipzig, the startup offers fair and transparent money advice services and is gaining traction with investors.

Managing finances and planning for the future in today’s world requires using digital tools. Whilst there are a number of providers out there, each promising to help users with asset management, there is still a degree of scepticism and it can be hard to know who to trust as transparency is fairly hard to come across.

Aiming to change that is Evergreen – a German fintech startup that has just secured new capital to grow. The young company, founded in 2018, has secured €1.3 million in a seed financing round. The lead investor is the American ZAIS Group.

Iven Kurz, CEO of Evergreen: “I am delighted about the trust our shareholders have placed in Evergreen. Together we are working on the vision of changing capital investment in a sustainable way. This year, we will focus particularly on further expanding our offering.  Our focus is on sustainability and retirement provision. Here we want to expand our offering step by step with sustainable solutions for capital-forming benefits, company pensions and the pan-european-pension-plan, short PEPP.”

Born in Leipzig, Evergreen has been awarded as a sustainable B Corp certified asset manager, a reflection of the ethics that underpin the firm’s approach to asset management.

As a direct asset manager, Evergreen offers its customers and partner companies the complete value chain for capital investment from the management of individual investment products to onboarding and digital asset management from a single source.

In 2022, the number of customers more than doubled, and now, the startup wants to expand. This new cash injection will be used to spearhead the development of new features for retirement planning and the expansion of the sustainable product range. It’ll also support the development of the asset management-as-a-service (AMaaS) area.

Martin Liebsch, Investment Manager at Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen: “In the current market environment it is not easy to realize larger financing rounds as a FinTech in the growth phase.” However, the Evergreen team has impressively demonstrated with its KPIs that crises also represent opportunities. Through new cooperations and product developments, as well as the growth to date, there are attractive opportunities for shareholders and further scaling.”
