Entering her sophomore season with ambitions in full swing, Athena “Kitty” Jiang will be expanding into shout-casting and occasionally hosting for the LPL broadcast in 2023.

A broadcast is nothing without a star-studded talent team to bring it to life.

The LPL held nothing back as they pieced together their roster for Split 1 of the new year.

Announced earlier this morning, Lennon “Mazel” White, Joseph “Munchables” Fenny, Jordan “Lyric” Corby, Oisín Molloy, Xia “Wendy” An and fellow Oceanic resident Jake “Hysterics” Osypenko are set to be returning to the broadcast.

Kitty is among the fresh blood to be announced, alongside Adrian “Jamada” Wharlton-Thorne and Alex “Nymaera” Hapgood.

During her time with the LCO, her perspective as a long-time Oceanic Challenger ranked player enabled her to provide insightful analysis throughout the season.

This move will serve as Kitty’s second international appearance following a brief digital cameo on the 2022 MSI broadcast.

Following her success with the LCO, she’s ready and excited for this next step in her career. “It was totally unexpected!” Kitty told Snowball Esports.

“I’m really proud to be casting my own home region. Working on the LPL is a dream come true,” says Kitty, who is looking to use her bilingual ability in English and Mandarin to perform in the new role.

“I’ve been a huge fan [of the LPL] since the beginning. I grew up watching JackeyLove, and now I get to cast him.”

The LPL will kick off the League of Legends 2023 season, with Split 1 beginning Saturday, January 14.
