Synthcord in Destiny 2 is one of the new items added this season, and you’re going to want to get some. This new item is used in the recently added Transmog system. The Armor Synthesis system allows players to alter the way they look in-game giving them many more options to pick from. And with games like this, there is tons of reasons to change things up visually. A lot of Destiny 2  players will want to change things up plenty, meaning that they need a lot of the Synthcord.

How to get Synthcord in Destiny 2

The basis of the Armor Synthesis system is Synthstrand, which is then turned into the Synthcord. Along with the Synthcord, you might need other items. You then need to turn Synthcord in Destiny 2 into Synthweave to make use of it. Do this at the Loom. So the general process is like this: Synthstrand goes into Synthcord, and Synthcord goes into Synthweave. You then turn that Synthweave into a Universal Armor Ornament that can be used in your loadout.

For most of these, you can get them by just playing the game. You can get a solid amount of these resources by completing bounties from Ada-1. This means you need to trade 150 Synthstrand to Ada-1 for their bounties. If you’re having trouble finding Ada-1 to get bounties, check the room off to the left side of the Bazaar in the Tower. Just spawn at the Tower Annex and turn left past the Drifter.

The later resources can be given out as a reward for completing Ada-1’s bounties. Synthstrand is much easier to get, you just need to take out foes during any other gameplay mission. This means you can go for Strikes and other missions with lots of foes to farm tons of the drops. There’s no guarantee you get the Synthstrand, but it seems like a somewhat common drop.

Each bounty you pickup will effectively be a certain gametype. You could get Vanguard missions or Raids with plenty of PvE content. You can also be sent to complete specific tasks in the Crucible or Gambit modes on some instances. Also, keep in mind that you’re limited in how many runs you can use the new Armor Synthesis system. Each season, starting with Season of the Splicer, will have an upper limit of 10 to 20 repetitions.

And don’t worry if a mission is too hard for you to complete, you don’t lose all of the resources you put into it. If you bail on a bounty before completing it, you receive a small portion of the 150 Synthstrand back.
