Honkai Star Rail introduces Hook fairly early on, as you explore the underground portions of Jarilo-VI. She participates in several adventure missions, and you can invite her to be a guest on your ship. You also can add her to your roster, if you happen to draw her. Here is our guide on the Relics, Light Cones, Eidolons, and abilities you need to create the best build for Hook in Honkai Star Rail.

Note: We’ll have a Honkai: Star Rail guides and features hub soon, so stay tuned.

Best build for Hook in Honkai Star Rail: Relics, Light Cones, Eidolons and Abilities

Hook is an interesting character who follows the Destruction path and uses the fire element in her attacks. Her usefulness is somewhat limited, since characters such as the Fire Trailblazer are also readily available. Still, she might be worth your attention if you happen to draw her early in your adventure and need help defeating the many ice monsters you encounter at that point.

To best improve Hook, focus on improvements that emphasize her fire element. After all, it’s the primary reason you might even keep her in your active party.

For her Relic, it’s a good idea to mix Firesmith of Lava-Forging gear (found once you unlock the Cavern of Corrosion, on the Path of Conflagration) with Musketeer of Wild Wheat. That setup offers a nice combination of benefits. Otherwise, you might want to go all-in on the first of those sets.

If you manage to snag the Something Irreplaceable Light Cone, that’s the one to go with. However, a nice (and more common) compromise is Woof! Walk Time! It adds DMG when attacking enemies afflicted with the Burn status ailment, which Hook can produce in more extended brawls. Other options can fill in the gap until you find something better, but you shouldn’t spend too many resources strengthening them.

Hook has some lively abilities that will make her enemies feel the burn. Boom! Here Comes the Fire! unleashes a blaze that has a lingering effect. The next attack she uses will be enhanced and affect not just one enemy, but those adjacent to it. Her secret weapon is the Hey! Remember Hook? skill, which will Burn enemies so that they receive damage over time (and make them more susceptible to follow-up attacks). Also, I enjoy entering battle after using her Ack! Look at This Mess! technique because it begins the conflict by inflicting Burn on enemies.

Eidolons greatly add to Hook’s effectiveness. Happy Tummy, Happy Body extends how long the Burn status effect lasts. Other enhancements also make affliction with that status ailment more likely and more damaging. Hook’s arrival will certainly not be greeted with pleasure by icy foes.
