Giant mural of All-Star Mile hopeful Keats unveiled in Melbourne’s CBD

A giant mural of All-Star Mile aspirant Keats has been unveiled in Melbourne on Friday morning.

Located on La Trobe Street, the 8×4-metre sized mural was donated by the director of Apparition Media and co-owner of Keats Tyson Hunter, who is encouraging the public to vote for Keats in next month’s $5 million All-Star Mile.

Dubbed “the people’s horse,” Keats was initially purchased for $405,000 from Ireland with an eye to race in the Cox Plate under Michael Moroney.

Keats never reached those heights at the Moroney stable and was subsequently sold on Inglis Digital, where he found himself a new home at the Gavin Beddgood stable.

Keats was purchased for $25,000 by Jack Dickens and Mailbag Bloodstock, who syndicated the horse and since have recouped over $140,000 in prize money.

“I purchased the horse for 25k, and he has made at least four times that. He has given our owners the ride of their lives,” Dickens said.

Dickens, the director of Mailbag Bloodstock, is pushing the public to vote for Keats and believes he deserves his spot in the $5 million race.
