I have known Radu Palamariu for a while and have been following him on LinkedIn for much longer. He has always had a fresh take on supply chain talent and what the most important traits are for successful supply chain leaders. Radu is the Founder and Managing Director of Alcott Global, a global executive search firm focused on operations and supply chain. When he teamed up with McKinsey Partner and Supply Chain Expert Knut Alicke to write a book on supply chain management, I got excited.

Supply Chain and logistics are more top of mind than ever, and people are finally realizing that there is a whole world behind how their products arrive at their doorstep. This increased awareness of the importance of supply chain management is also landing in corporate boardrooms. An increasing number of companies have a Chief Supply Chain Officer, and that’s a significant development.

Supply chains are very complex, and if you can successfully manage shortages and disruptions and constantly improve processes, making sure the company can deliver on its promise to the customers, why shouldn’t you be able to steer the whole company through crises? True supply chain managers have a holistic view and approach.
