Daimler Launching Medium-Duty Electric Truck Brand in the U.S.

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck recently announced it would be introducing its Rizon line of medium-duty electric trucks to the United States, according to Green Fleet Magazine. The production of these trucks is reportedly scheduled to begin during the third quarter of 2023.

Rizon will offer three model variants of its Class 4 and Class 5 trucks: the e16M, e16L and e18L. The e16M has an estimated transportation range between 75 and 110 miles. Meanwhile, the e18L has an estimated range of 110 to 150 miles, and the e16L has an estimated driving range of 115 to 160 miles.

During the fourth quarter of 2023, the Rizon line will be sold and serviced by the Velocity Vehicle Group to facilities in California, Nevada, Arizona, Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama and Kentucky, as well as Australia and Mexico.

“Our fully electric medium-duty trucks are designed on customer feedback for practical real-world business needs. Developed and built in-house from the ground up, RIZON is setting a new standard in Class 4-5 commercial electric vehicles,” Daimler said.
