Japan planlægger at begrænse noget udstyrseksport

Japan’s government says it plans to put restrictions on some computer chip-making exports, following similar moves by the U.S. and the Netherlands. The measures will apply to 23 types of udstyr til fremstilling af halvledere.

Although semiconductors are at the center of a bitter dispute between the U.S. and China, the March 31 statement from Japan’s trade and industry ministry did not make any reference to China or the U.S., reports BBC News.

Meddelelsen kom, da den japanske udenrigsminister Yoshimasa Hayashi skulle besøge Beijing i weekenden.

Japan’s restrictions will apply to equipment supplied by major technology companies including Tokyo Electron and Nikon. They will affect exports ranging from tools which are used to clean silicon wafers to immersion lithography machines.

I oktober 2022 meddelte Washington, at det ville kræve licenser for virksomheder, der eksporterer chips til Kina ved hjælp af amerikanske værktøjer eller software, uanset hvor de er fremstillet i verden.
